For me the best gaming mouse is Razer Naga hex v2. But its you who use that mouse. So, choose according to your needs.

The best gaming mouse for me was the mx518 but I replaced it with the new G5 with 7 buttons. I did not like the first G5 becuase of the single thumb button, I am use to the mx518s design and the new G5 7-button is the best pick for me. And the color/feel is freaken awsome

I am still hesitating to pick up a wireless gaming mouse as I like playing STG and FTS. Each click is so important, I dont want any missed signal.

I'm really digging the G5...

My friend likes Razors, but uses a G5 for his lappy.

Razors are great mouses... I like them but I have to say I like the G5 (and most logitech mouses) more because they are larger. The G5 feels very ergonomic... to me at least.

Mine has all 5 settings when setpoint is on. when it is off-it goes back to the defaults o400, 800, and 2000 dpi. this might help you.

Well I may have already said this but my MX1000 is great, I've had it for about 4 years now and the feet are still fine but starting to get a little low for my tastes, but add some BFG Tech Teflon Slick Pads and it's better then new. If this dies I will most likely with a 99% chance get the same thing.
