Currently, I like to watch anime on my room, I have a Logitech Z-5500 THX 5.1 500 watts home theater, HDTV LCD 26", MediaGate MG-350HD and a external 1TB hard disk, also, another 960GB storage on my PC.

The MG-350HD is a neat device http://www.airlinktek.com/english/prod_mg350.htm, It can play DivX, XviD, MPEG2, MPEG4, .TS, WMV, DVD Folders, DVD ISO and more...  all those formats up to 1080p (not upscaled, native), also the device can upscale SD material to full 1080p if you want. And for audio, AC3, DTS, MP2, MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA, and also photos, also a USB input for external device (like harddisk, dvd-rom, pen drives, etc...)

I purchased that from NewEgg, about $250, worth every penny. Some anime movies I have on 720p looks beautiful on my HDTV via the MG-350HD in full Dolby Digital 5.1

lol, you have no idea the funny looks the Japanese exchange students gave me when I tried to speak THEIR language..  I just walked right up, sat down and started trying to talk to them in Japanese as if I was Japanese... It was so random.... The boys laughed so bad they all fell out of their chairs. That I could understand.. What confused the hell out of me is that most of the girls covered their mouths and turned away from me.. For some reason I immediately thought the girls were puking or something so I got up and left.. Later I learned that's just how they laugh sometimes.

Ya I had some friends who laughed when they were teaching me Japanese... then I reminded them that they still pronounced any word with an L in it like an R and it kind of shut them up...

Nope, he's worried that his son is resorting to ani-porn [:P].  Hence why would someone watch something on a smaller screen with headphones if there's a larger option available.
lol, well actually when you have the laptop with the screen inches away from your face it's like being in a movie theatre watching Anime on the big screen.. wow.. I've got to be careful what I say around here.. [^o)]

my family thinks im weird liking anime at 42!
Not weird at all, I'm sure I'll be sitting on the couch eating Pocky and watching Anime when I'm 70. Of course, I hope by then that I'll be able to turn off the subtitles and enjoy it just the same.. But I'm a little slow at learning the Japanese if you know what I mean [:^)]
