driver download

Trying to add a printer (Brother HL 1450 Laser) to my new build. I don't have the install cd. Went to the Brother website, downloaded the driver and openned the file. I am also a month ago having the same problem with my printer brother hl-1450-after installing windows 7, eventually the problem resolved once I get master drivers brother hl 1450

Sort-of.  When the download is done, if the user clicks the "open" button, then it will launch whatever client app is set for unzipping.

OK, when you download drivers, you got to unzip and install the files. Your computer doesn't automaticaly do these things for you.

Do you know where it extracted to? If not make a folder on your desktop and move the downloaded file into it. Then right click and tell it to extract here. Or Extract all - Next- and browse to the folder you made. Then look for a setup file.

I don't know how to install the downloaded driver. I unzipped the dl driver, got the response "33 files unzipped" and nothing else happened. How do I load the driver and install the printer? Thanks. I am still looking for a setup file.

You may need to extract the file if it is compressed. Right click should give you the extract option. After it is extracted go into the folder and look for a setup file then, double click it.

If that won't work go to add printer and do the manual thing. Choose a port. Choose brand then browse to the folder for drivers. I think that's how it gos it's been awhile since i've done it.
