New build advice

I'm looking at putting together a new machine for both development work and gaming. I don't need ZOMG game performance, and I think that the parts I've got will fit my needs pretty well. The only things I'm not sure about are the case/power supply, so I figured I'd ask for recommendations. In terms of a case, I do......

As far as a case / power supply goes, you might want to look at the Antec Sonata III 500. Antec makes some very solid cases and this one has the Antec Earthwatts 500 watt power supply already installed. The Earthwatts power supply is a tier 2 supply on the tiered list. In Canada it costs $134.39 plus shipping.

Thanks for the input - I prefer to go with NVidia for graphics since I plan on running Linux on the machine part of the time, and my understanding is that ATI tends to not work as well for dual-head Linux setups. As for the hard drive, I'll probably go with Samsung now, I had forgotten about the 7200.11 issues. :)

From the Newegg reviews! Like here

That's 11 1-egg reviews in the last 2 weeks.

I think there's a discussion going on in the storage forum too, if I remember right.

clarkl,

1 warning! Beware of the Seagate 7200.11 drives! They're having all sorts of problems with them lately. I suggest you look at Western Digital or Samsung.
