Memory Guide?

Okay so I'm building this new pc right now and needless to say this is not my forte.  Does anyone have a guide on memory, like how much? and for what type of applications....  The motherboard I'm buying supports up to 8GB of ram, but Im trying to build this PC for a reasonable price and get the most bang...

If you want to go SLI then get a 650i or 680i motherboard.  Also, get a paired kit of ram like the ones I gave the link to before but you will want DDR2-800 with Cas4 for SLI setups. get this:

I will go SLI/Crossfire, I want dx 10 so SLI i guess.  It seems that everyone is in the belief that 2 GB is just fine, should i do one 2GB or two 1GB sticks?

What kind of video card will you be using?  Will you want Crossfire or SLI?  If not then I would suggest a P965 motherboard with only 1 PCIx16 slot.  The Gigabyte 965P-DS3 is really the best in my opinion.  Get the 2Gig kit of Kingston KVR667D2N5K2/2G.  It is very reliable and will serve you well.
