MSI GEFORCE GTX 1050 TI 4GB AND MSI 970A GAMING PRO CARBON question.

Can I use a PCI Express 3.0 x16 graphics card(MSI Geforce GTX 1050TI 4gb) on a PCI Express 2.0 motherboard(MSI 970A Gaming Pro Carbon) Its installed correctly no problems still building not finished yet....

Yes PCI-E 3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0
The only difference is and amount of bandwidth that the 3.0 can handle (more than the 2.0) it will in no way affect the performance of that card It would take around a GTX 1080ti to saturate the 2.0 bandwidth.

The 1050 Ti GPU doesn't "push" enough data over the PCIE lanes that a 2.0 vs 3.0 bandwidth difference would matter.

I have this mobo https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130973 the msi z270 carbon pro and have a evga 1050yi sc and for a 140$ card it runs amazing. gta5, wildlands, prey, dishonored 2...no issues at all with it.
